Our Pickles

The Hero
Despite our wide range, our Pickles remain one of our most iconic products to this day.
That has its reasons. With our Pickles, we also remain true to the same recipe by Louis Van Camp. The unique taste and colour come from the blend of spices, with more than 12 different types of herbs. Once again, no additives have been added. In this way, we offer a completely pure and natural product. And you can taste that.!
In addition, our Pickles also contain more than 50% vegetables! These provide that lovely crunch in our sauce. Unlike some other brands, our vegetables are pickled, not frozen. After intensive rinsing and washing, we can ensure that our vegetables are always nice and crispy in this way.
How do you make pickles?
As you may know, you also need mustard for pickles. Our mustard is placed in a large cooking kettle along with water, vinegar, salt, and spices such as fennel, curry, and turmeric. Finally, at Camp’s, we use a unique starch to bind the sauce during cooking. The starch used by Camp’s is one of the key success factors behind our Pickles. It’s truly unique because it creates a smooth, well-bound texture without giving the sauce a floury taste.

Belgian Pickles
On a trip to England, Louis Van Camp became acquainted with Piccalilli. A spicy sauce that was heavily influenced by Indian cuisine. He had this sauce transported by boat to Belgium and poured it over the leftover vegetables. To ensure its shelf life, he added some vinegar. The sour Belgian pickles were born!
During World War I, Louis Van Camp was forced to make the sauce entirely by himself as the Channel was closed to trade. He then decided to produce the finely ground mustard needed for the sauce himself, from that moment we make mustard at Camp's, pickles and pickled vegetables.
Pickle sauce
Camp’s has a very strong name in the hospitality industry. Many chefs use our Pickles for various preparations. For some applications, they only used the sauce and strained out the vegetables or mixed in our Pickles. That’s why we now offer our Pickles sauce in a squeeze bottle.
The delicious sauce from our pickles, this time without the vegetables, is a real flavour bomb. With its sour and spicy notes, it adds not only a nice colour but also a fresh touch to many classics or new dishes.
From "dressing up" a hotdog or burger to finishing off with chips, nachos or cauliflower. The possibilities are endless.

Fruit pickles with mango
For many, the discovery of our range! This is the sweet-sour sibling of our Pickles. Mango, fine carrots, and bell peppers are prepared in a deliciously spiced sweet-sour sauce just like our Pickles. The sweet-sour flavour is reminiscent of a chutney, but it’s not quite that. Delicious with salty cheeses, pâté, white pudding, in hummus, with raclette... The combinations are endless.
